I searched for a cheap plug adapter far and wide in Budapest. The cheapest one I found was about 20 Euro. Finally I made my way to an open-air Chinese market. I got chatting with the folks their, and before I knew it, one had given me his own plug adapter and another had given me a brand-new shirt (does this say more about his generosity or his dissatisfaction with my sartorial style?). The guy on the left is Haiwen Yang. He manages a towel business, but graduated from a university in Xian with a degree in English. He speaks English fluently, but tolerated a few moments of conversation with me in Chinese.
