China, Guangxi prov - An older couple cycling to town. That so many Chinese still use bicycles as their main transport makes me happy. It makes me sad, however, that they ride because they don't have a choice due to poverty. It is a luxury and a privledge to have a choice about our transport. Those of us that have a choice additionally have a responsibility to keep the community air clean and to reduce CO2 that is speeding Global Warming along by choosing to drive our cars as little as possible (until electric and other clean fuel cars arrive).
