Türkiye, Edirde - With our host famiy, the Kahya's: Naciye, our adopted mother who feeds us well, Volkan (far R) who met us playing music at the Garden House Cafe and eagerly invited us to stay at his house even though his English is basic, Aşkim a close friend of the family and co-worker with Volkan, and Gurkan (back center) Volkan's younger brother. Both Volkan and Gurkan have been taking quickly to Andrew's beginning guitar lessons. They also are interested in Chinese characters, which Peter & Andrew have helped them with. THANK YOU SO MUCH for welcoming us as family into your home while we waited 4 days for Bulgaria to finally issue Nakia a 10 day visa...which ultimately is useless for us on a cycle trip. This photo also appeared on the front page of the local Edirne Gazette after an interview arranged by Volkan's boss, Durukan, who was the first to talk with us at the Garden House Cafe the evening we played.
