A pump designed by Nicola Tesla, a Serbian engineer and inventor who worked primarily in the U.S. after Emigrating there. An equal rival of Edison but never as famous or financially successful, Tesla gave us alternating current, the electric motor, the radio (the patent board ruled in 1943 that Marconi's patent for the radio was preempted by a patent registered first by Tesla (Marconi was actually Tesla's former assistant)) and a more efficient water pump (featured here).
